Why your shoulders ache by Thursday
Desk work loads the same muscles for hours at a time. Here is what that does to your neck and shoulders, and two changes that take the edge off before your next session.

Most people walk out of their first session with less pain and more movement than they walked in with. Recovery Room offers one-to-one treatment that finds the cause, not just the sore bit.
Recovery Room is a single-therapist practice on Lord Street run by Metin, who has been treating desk workers, gym-goers and athletes across Gravesend since 2019. Every session starts with working out what your body is actually doing and ends with a plan to keep it that way.
Treatments
Not sure which one you need? Book the sports massage and Metin will tell you in the first ten minutes if something else suits you better.
About Metin
More than 100 people in Gravesend have already come to Metin for help moving more freely and getting back to what they enjoy.
Where it hurts is only part of the picture. Metin takes time to understand when the problem began, what aggravates it and how it affects your day before shaping the treatment around you.
His approach comes from his own experience with running, boxing and CrossFit training, alongside years spent teaching Public Services. He explains what he finds without the jargon, so the treatment makes sense and you leave knowing how to manage things afterwards.

What to expect
If you have never had a sports massage, here鈥檚 exactly what the hour looks like.
You explain what hurts, what makes it worse and what you are trying to get back to. Metin asks about your training, your job and how you sleep, because all three usually show up in the same shoulder.

Firm, focused work on the areas that need it, with the pressure checked as it goes. You stay comfortable and covered throughout, and you can ask him to ease off at any point without it being awkward.

Specific stretches and movement advice for your situation, plus an honest view on whether you need to come back and how soon. Sometimes the answer is that you do not.

FAQ
Perfect for athletes, gym-goers, or anyone with tight muscles, aches, or postural strain. Tailored to your needs.

Some of it will be uncomfortable, particularly on an area that has been tight for months. It should never be more than you can breathe through, and the pressure is adjusted as the session goes on. Telling Metin to ease off is expected, not a problem.
No. Most people who come in are carrying a stiff neck from a desk job or a shoulder that has been tight for so long it started to feel normal. Sports massage suits anyone whose muscles are working harder than they should be.
